When Season 1 of Loki introduced the concept of the TVA and “variants” it allowed the MCU to explore some of the stranger characters in the vast history of Marvel Comics.
Perhaps most memorably, was Loki’s meeting with various versions of himself in the “Void”. It was in this strange location at the end of time, that the MCU revealed other Loki variants inspired by the comics including Kid Loki, Classic Loki, Boastful Loki, and of course Alligator Loki.
While in the Void, audiences were also introduced to a Thor variant, who was….a frog.
That’s right, Frog Thor, or Throg was briefly featured in Loki, trapped in a jar and trying to get to Mjolnir.
A Storied History?
As strange as it may seem, Throg actually has a fairly extensive history in the comics. In fact, his jar in Loki was labeled “T365” a reference to Thor #365, which saw the character’s debut.
While I won’t bore you with the long history of Throg, needless to say, the idea of a frog version of Thor is a hilarious concept, and one that fans seem to like.
Well, if you are a Throg fan (and who wouldn’t be?), I have great, and perhaps surprising, news.
Throg Shoulder Plush
Disney has released a Throg shoulder plush. This means you can now travel the world with a Thor powered frog by your side.
This Throg shoulder plush is everything you could want out of a Marvel plush (I think)? This basically means that it is a small frog dressed up a Thor.
Throg is wearing Thor’s traditional outfit in this plush, and even has his own little Mjolnir.
The magnetic base that Throg comes with allows you to attach the heroic frog to your shoulder and bring him wherever you go!
Where To Get It
So if you want to show the world that you are the #1 Throg fan, you better act quickly!
This Throg shoulder plush is available now at the Magic Kingdom’s Emporium.
