Russell Brand appears to have received a standing ovation at a Wembley gig on Saturday night after he was accused of rape and sexual assault.
Brand performed his Bipolarisation show at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre and received a rapturous reception, according to a video published by MailOnline.
He appeared on stage after an investigation by The Times of London, Sunday Times, and Channel 4 alleged that he raped and sexually abused four women between 2006 and 2013.
Brand vehemently denies the allegations and said it was part of a coordinated campaign by the “mainstream media” to silence him.
Brand is reported to have told the Wembley crowd: “I love you. I love you. Thank you. There’s some things I cannot talk about and hopefully, you appreciate that I’m gonna give you everything I’ve got.”
A woman was pictured at the event holding a sign that said: “We stand by you Russell. Stay strong. Stay Free. We love you.”
Earlier, Sky News carried footage of Brand entering the gig.
