Xbox Game Studios Have “More Than a Dozen” Games in Development

It’s no secret that Xbox Game Studios has had a bit of a slow output of games despite the recent success stories with games like Hi-Fi RUSH and Starfield. Still, there is plenty to look forward to on the horizon, or at least that’s what one of the Directors of Live Game Operations thinks, stating that Xbox Game Studios has “more than a dozen” games in development at this point in time.

This was a quote taken from Crystin Cox from a talk she had in GDC last March. In the talk (transcribed by Wccftech) Cox talks about how Xbox Game Studios Publishing helps developers when it comes to getting games out the door and into players’ hands. The talk moves on to reveal that Microsoft currently has over a dozen new and unique titles in development that are being worked on at the moment.

According to Cox, there are a lot of projects that Xbox is currently working on, and every single one of them is totally unique and is approached in a very bespoke way. Of course, some players might be able to infer about which projects are in the pipeline, but one can only speculate what new surprises Microsoft and Xbox Game Studios have in store.

Recently, Microsoft has talked about how Xbox is going to bring heavy hitters, starting with Starfield. “This very much feels like the starting gun for this relay pass that’s going to take place over the next couple of years”, Microsoft’s Xbox Chief Marketing Officer Jerret West recently said. With the relay race already kicking off with Starfield, what could be in store for Microsoft?
