PSA: You Can Actually Buy Penny’s Eevee Backpack from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The first time I saw Penny’s Eevee backpack in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, I literally thought, “I need this,” and rushed to Google to see if it was a real thing I could drop money on. It wasn’t… Until now, that is. Releasing as part of the Pokémon Trainers Paldea line, Japanese fans can purchase a real-life replica of the character’s bag from Pokémon Center Japan starting September 16, 2023. And it’s SO CUTE.

The Eevee backpack costs ¥6,930 (just over $47 USD/£38), though you can expect to pay a little more than that if you’re planning on importing it like I am. There’s no word on a release in the West yet (boo), though it’s likely we could see this on the US Pokémon Center in the future as The Pokémon Company has been slowly drip-feeding Japan-exclusive products there over the past few months. Yes, I could wait and see, but I’m incredibly impatient.

Other iconic items from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in the Pokémon Trainers Paldea line include Iono’s bow, Iono’s Magnemite headband, and Rika’s black gloves. There are also acrylic stands and mascot plushies of various characters, most importantly Glaseado Mountain Gym Leader Grusha, which, let’s be honest, we all need in our lives. He’s a total babe.

You can head over to the Memories of Paldea website to view the full lineup of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet products releasing on September 16. Just a warning, though: you’ll probably want to buy everything like I do. Let’s hope you have more willpower than me!
