Magaluf mega-brawl: More than FIFTY people are filmed fighting and throwing bottles in huge punch-up at holiday resort which left several people with broken bones

  • Hooligans were seen kicking, punching and throwing bottles in violent clashes
  • The brutal bust-up went on for around 10 minutes before police intervened

More than 50 people have been filmed taking part in a massive street brawl in the party resort of Magaluf.

Hooligans were seen kicking and punching each other and throwing missiles including bottles in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The fight went on for around 10 minutes before police intervened and managed to restore order.

There has not yet been any official comment from the authorities.

One local report said the incident was sparked by a fight between a group of North African youngsters and Spaniards and ended up involving revellers from different nationalities.

But well-placed sources were saying this morning rival groups of Portuguese youngsters had been involved.

Some were said to have suffered injuries including broken bones with arrests reportedly taking place.

Police are said to be checking with local hospitals and health centres to see if anyone sought medical assistance for injuries suffered in the brawl that will help them identify more of those involved.

The violence kicked off in the street outside popular nightspot Panama Jack.

One youngster was seen being knocked to the ground with a punch to the face and getting up before others started lashing out with their feet and fists as witnesses screamed.

A local commenting on the scenes, which occurred following years of attempts by local authorities to clean up Magaluf’s image, said sarcastically: ‘Magaluf in modernisation phase and elimination of drunken tourism.’

In March a British tourist was arrested after allegedly mowing down two holidaymakers including a UK teenager in Magaluf.

No Brits are believed to have been involved in yesterday morning’s violence.
