Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter. In Scream VI, Melissa Barrera (“Sam Carpenter”), Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Mindy Meeks-Martin”), Mason Gooding (“Chad Meeks-Martin”), Jenna Ortega (“Tara Carpenter”), Hayden Panettiere (“Kirby Reed”), and Courtney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) return to their roles in the franchise alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra and Samara Weaving.
We do know that Scream 6 will take place in New York City. So that evens the score with three films in Woodsboro and three taking place elsewhere. And, we do know two of those survivors must be Sam and Tara because, well, they are the new faces of this franchise. The other two are pretty easy to figure out as well. Randy Meeks’ niece and nephew Mindy and Chad are the only other people from the teen friend group to live, so it’s obviously them. For new cast, Dermot Mulroney will portray a cop while Samara Weaving and Spider-Man‘s Tony Revolori have also joined the cast in undisclosed roles.
Recently, Melissa Barrera revealed when exactly Scream 6 would take place within the timeline of the Scream franchise. She noted during an interview with Deadline, which we saw on Collider, “It’s (Scream 6) like almost directly after the last one. Basically, the amount of time that has passed between one movie and the other is the amount of time that has passed in, you know, Scream time.”
