“A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Our royal monarchs are back with plenty of drama and bringing a whole new cast to boot. Last season the series ended off with the falling of out between Princess Diana and Charles fallout. Now this season we will have a significant time jump. Netflix has given us a first look at the all-star cast that will be taking off this season.

Elizabeth Debicki will be playing Princess Diana and is a perfect replica of her.

It has come to no surprise that this season will have plenty of controversy surrounding it. As we can see from these stills this will be when Princess Diana and the royal family start to become separated. Netflix has defended the show time and time again depicting it as a “fictional dramatization”. After the attacks this week from Former British Prime Minister, John Major who will be seen this season has slammed its depictions of his time in office as “damaging and malicious fiction” and a “barrel-load of nonsense”.

What will this season be about?
Season 5 will also be centering around the Queen “approaching the 40th anniversary of her accession”. The Crown has always been presented as a drama based on historical events however many people know this but some people are taking what is in this show as fact. It is not. This is simply created for dramatic purposes and the actors have done such a fantastic job at doing so.

They will also be showing this season the breakdown of the then Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage in the ’90s. This will even spread into another season as well. This season will be picking up in the early ’90s and will then end with Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s separation in 1992 and their subsequent divorce in 1996. Detailing each and every drama that is going to be played out even already knowing more or less about the story between Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

The Crown Season 5 will be arriving on Netflix on November 9, 2022. I can’t wait to see how this season will play out.
