Annie Wersching has passed away at 45

Annie Wersching, well known for numerous roles throughout her acting career, has passed away at 45.  She is survived by her husband Steve and their three sons.  Wersching was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, but continued to shine in episodes of Bosch, Star Trek: Picard and The Rookie.

Born March 28, 1977, in St. Louis, MO, Wersching attended high school at Crossroads College Preparatory School, graduating in 1995 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theatre from Millikin University.

Wersching began her acting career with a guest appearance on Star Trek: Enterprise and continued to hone her craft on shows like Charmed (2004), Killer Instinct (2005), Cold Case (2006) and Supernatural (2007).  She was well known on the set of ABC’s General Hospital, playing the recurring role of Amelia Joffe in 2007 and went on to play FBI special agent Renee Walker on 24 in 2009 and 2010.

After her two-season stint in 24, Wersching guest starred on various shows, including CSI (2010), NCIS (2010), Rizzoli & Isles (2011), Hawaii Five-0 (2011), Body of Proof (2013), Dallas (2013), Revolution (2013), Castle (2013-2015), Blue Bloods (2014) and The Vampire Diaries (2015-2016) to highlight a few.

In 2013, Wersching became the voice of Tess in Naughty Dog’s game, The Last of Us, where she earned a Best Vocal Ensemble in a Video Game (BTVA) award in 2014.

More recently, she played numerous characters in the sci-fi and fantasy space, including Emma Whitmore in NBC’s Timeless, Leslie Dean in Marvel’s Runaways, and the Borg Queen in the second season of Paramount’s Star Trek Picard.

Wersching’s husband, actor Stephen Full, issued a statement. “There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall.”

“Annie lived for her family. She loved her work and cherished her friends, but Steve and the boys were her absolute everything,” reads her GoFundMe page.
