Every New Movie and TV Show Coming to HBO Max in June 2026

Canadian-born reporter and editor Adam Symchuk has been writing on the topic of film, TV, and literature for over a decade. Starting with an emphasis on Asian film, literature and manga, his love of interntional cinema set the groundwork for decades of obsession with film.

HBO Max heads into June with one of the most anticipated new seasons of the year, with the third season of House of the Dragon. For film fans, HBO Max is also bringing a dark comedy led by Glen Powell onto the platform that you won’t want to miss. This is just a small sample, as the pristine streaming service is adding a plethora of new TV series and films, as well as some classic titles to streaming.

I have picked out a few titles that you need to check out when they land. After that, you will find a complete list of notable new movies and TV originals, as well as a complete list of everything coming to HBO Max in June 2026, along with when they will be available.

MovieWeb Staff Picks for What’s New to HBO Max in June 2026

  • Stoker (2013) June 1: Park Chan-wook’s first English-language film oozes atmosphere and dread as it delves into a dysfunctional coming-of-age thriller. A dysfunctional family drama with dark erotic undertones, the movie is layered in a way that invites contemplation and rewatching. Nicole Kidman is also at her best here, delivering one of the most spine-chilling lines ever (you’ll know it when it comes up). Mia Wasikowska is also phenomenal in the lead.
  • Hell or High Water (2016) June 1: Taylor Sheridan has become one of the most prominent figures in shaping the current landscape of television, but this deserved praise sometimes overlooks his cinematic works; Hell or High Water included. You get not only the tight, character-driven screenplay one would expect from Sheridan, but phenomenal performances by Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, and Ben Foster set against the backdrop of the economically struggling West Texas town.
  • Undertone (2026) – A24 June 26: You have to respect the slow burn and minimalistic horror to really get behind Undertone, but if that sounds like your vibe, this is one of the most meticulously constructed and masterfully executed horror movies of all time. Much of it is in the sound design here, but it’s also building on internet culture, and podcasts work especially well, feeling authentic. Ian Tuason is definitely a horror director to keep an eye on.

Major New HBO Max Originals & Returning Series in June 2026

  • Bring Me the Beauties: A Model Cult (limited series) June 1: A three-part HBO Original docuseries that traces male supermodel Hoyt Richards’ decades inside the New York Cult Eternal Values, led by self-proclaimed “alien walk-in” guru Frederick von Mierers. The group would recruit models and young professionals by appealing to a belief system that blended astrology and New Age spirituality. However, what they got was financial exploitation, sexual coercion, and manipulation.
  • Pillion (2026) June 5: A BDSM dark comedy/romance adapted from Adam Mars-Jones’ novel Box Hill, the A24 drama follows a timid and sheltered man, Colin, who is swept off his feet by a handsome biker named Ray. Ultimately, Ray takes on Colin as a submissive. Pillion is written and directed by Harry Lighton and stars Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgård.
  • How to Make a Killing (2026) June 19: Going after the family inheritance one step at a time, blue-collar worker Becket Redfellow, who was disowned at birth, begins taking out his relatives. A pitch-black comedic thriller written and directed by John Patton Ford of Emily the Criminal fame and starring Glen Powell, Margaret Qualley, and Ed Harris.
  • House of the Dragon (season 3) June 21: The Targaryen civil war erupts in full as Rhaenyra seems poised for victory, with Aegon II fleeing the capital. Arguably, the most anticipated returning series of June, House of the Dragon, promises to further raise the stakes. The first episode airs June 21 with new episodes weekly.
  • Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness (season 1) June 26: The Obama family sets out to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, but is interrupted by Larry David, who brings his own irritated worldview to exploring the country’s history. The limited-sketch comedy series features various comedians and David regulars re-enacting historical moments.
