Musa Mseleku and his family are saying goodbye to Mzansi screens after a thrilling ninth season of “Uthando Nesthembu”.
The season debuted in February with two episodes a week on Mzansi Magic, and now it concludes with two hour-long episodes, ensuring viewers are satisfied.
Season nine kicked off with tensions running high with Musa’s polygamous family, confronting the breakdowns within the family.
The wives, MaCele, MaYeni, MaNgwabe, and MaKhumalo, during the season dealt with their different challenges. The introduction of MaKhwela, also known as ‘Number 5,’ into the family brought in another set of problems.
Musa, who is also a producer of the hit show, remarked that he was “greatly humbled by the amount of support the family receives from the public. The season was also extended with four episodes.
“Having our season extended with additional episodes makes me happy,” he said.
When the show’s first season aired, Musa had hoped it would be successful but did not expect it to become this big. “It is far beyond what I had thought.”
Viewers are sad that another season of their favourite show is coming to an end, with some volunteering to go live to eMzumbe, where the Mseleku household is, just to keep up with the show.
It is unclear whether the Mseleku family will give in to a tenth season of the show, but Mzansi Magic has announced a new reality show, “Life with Londie London”, which debuts on May 21 at 8.00pm
