This week’s Take Ten guest is Camila Morrone. In this episode, we get into Morrone’s current roles, what she’s starring in next, her dream alternate-universe jobs, and her favorite Spanish slang, among many other things…
In Something Very Bad is Going to Happen on Netflix, Morrone plays Rachel, a woman whose wedding turns into the ultimate ceremony from hell. Aside from the carnage that happens on screen, Morrone has very fond memories of bonding with her co-star Adam DiMarco, who plays Rachel’s husband Nicky.
“I’m going to remember this forever,” she laughs. “We had so many inside jokes. We were so delirious shooting horror night shoots in winter in Canada, that we just had to make each other laugh all day, because it was too painful. We had an ongoing joke during our sex scenes. They would bring in this camera called the Vario Jib and we would make songs about the Vario Jib while we were laying waiting for our sex scenes.”

This resulted in an unexpected wrap gift from DiMarco. “Adam actually got me a bunch of merch from the company Vario Jib. So I have a Vario Jib hat, a Vario Jib hoodie, Vario Jib T-shirt…”
In the long-awaited second season of The Night Manager on Prime Video, Morrone’s character Roxana balances allegiances with a Columbian crime kingpin (Diego Calva) and an undercover British intelligence operative (Tom Hiddleston) to help take down a cartel ring. “I’m Argentinian,” she says, “and I’ve never gotten to play a character who spoke both languages. I think that that was a really exciting thing to get to bring from my personal life and such a big part of who I am. It was fun to to bring the fiery Latina to The Night Manager… call me for Season 3, OK?”

Morrone is currently shooting upcoming Netflix limited series The Age of Innocence: “It’s going to be beautiful and gut-wrenching and heartbreaking, and it’s a romance, and it’s a love story, and it’s forbidden love, and the costumes are incredible, the sets are incredible.”
She says she’s tempted to try and keep her character’s dresses from The Age of Innocence, but if she had to choose a costume to steal from any role, it would be Rachel’s ill-fated wedding dress in Something Very Bad is Going to Happen. “Courtney [Mitchell, costume designer] and I had a really fun time making a dress that we thought was very Rachel,” she says, “but also something that’s going to be classic, and hopefully live on forever in cinema. I do think that’s going to be an iconic Carrie-esque moment.”
