Sunita Ahuja reveals Govinda is a great son and father but not the husband she wanted, saying she’d choose someone like him as a son, not a partner, in her next life.

Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have been in the headlines for quite some time. Reports of the actor’s alleged affair had everyone discussing it. Now, in a recent chat, Sunita has spoken about how the Hero No. 1 actor is an excellent son and father, but she wouldn’t want him as a husband in her next life.
Sunita Ahuja, in a recent chat, was asked if she ever got jealous of his fan following. She replied, “When you are confident in your husband… if there’s a hero and you hear about his affair, it used to be fine at that time (in the ’90s). I am not talking about today.”
While talking to Abhishek Vyas Insights, Ahuja shared how Govinda has always been an amazing son but not a good husband. The social media star and YouTube vlogger shared, “I will say it again. Govinda is a good son, brother. But as a husband, what I want… I love going to parties, for dinners, on holidays, but he got so indulged in providing for his family that he never enjoyed it. He is 60 but has never lived for himself.”
“This makes me feel bad. You are such a big superstar, what have you seen in life? Nothing. I always say that I want a son like Govinda, not a husband. There’s no point even regretting it now; can’t leave him now. It has been 40 years now; even thinking about it would be a crime,” Sunita added.
When Sunita Denied Divorce Rumours
During the 2025 Ganesh Chaturthi celebration, Sunita interacted with the media and strongly dismissed divorce rumours, saying, “Aaj media ke muh pe thappad nahi padi hai kya? Humko saath mein dekh kar… itna close… agar kuch hota toh itne nazdeek hote? Humari duriya hoti. Koi hum dono ko alag nahi kar sakta. Chahe upar se koi bhi aa jaye… mera Govinda sirf mera hi hai aur kisi ka nahi hai. (Hasn’t the media gotten a slap in the face today? Seeing us together like this… so close… If there was something wrong, would we be this close? There would’ve been distance between us. No one can separate us… My Govinda is only mine and no one else’s.)”
Govinda and Sunita married in 1987, kept it a secret until their daughter Tina was born in 1989, and have stayed a strong unit for decades. However, the rumours clearly aren’t ready to take a break. Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have been one of Bollywood’s favourite love stories for decades, but recent chatter around their marriage has kept them in the headlines more than ever.
