Anushka Sharma has been one of the most loved celebrities in Bollywood. The actress had once reacted to rumours about her alleged cold war with Deepika Padukone.
Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone may not have been best of friends in Bollywood, but the two actresses have always spoken very highly of each other. While Deepika made her acting debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om in 2007, Anushka entered Bollywood with SRK’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi in 2008. Since then, there’s been no looking back for both the actresses, who are now considered amongst the highest-paid stars in Bollywood.
However, there had been rumours about an alleged “cold war” between the two in the very beginning of their careers. In a 2013 interview with Hindustan Times, Anushka had put an end to all the speculations around her equation with Deepika.
“I have no problems with Deepika or anyone,” Anushka had told HT when asked about her alleged “cold war” with Deepika. “I am here to work and not indulge into fights. I am happy with what I am doing and she would happy with her life. And all reports around us are false. It’s all like a dominos effect; just to cook up a story… there will be a series of lies to gossip about me. So basically its wrong the way women are perceived in this industry.”
Anushka had also attended Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding reception in Mumbai in 2018. In fact, she was one of the first Bollywood celebrities to wish Ranveer and Deepika on their wedding.
Ranveer had also thanked Anushka for making it to his wedding reception. In an old interview with Filmfare, Ranveer had said, “It was very warm. It was really lovely. But for me it was very significant and very special that Anushka came.”
