LeBron James, Peyton Manning & The Obamas Teaming With Netflix For NBA Docuseries – Deadline

Peyton Manning, LeBron James and Michelle and Barack Obama are looking to team up with Netflix for an NBA docuseries modeled after Quarterback.

Manning’s Omaha Productions and James’s SpringHill Company are in talks to partner up with the Obamas’ Higher Ground Production and the NBA for the series, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

Omaha Productions already produces Quarterback for the streamer in partnership with NFL Films and 2PM Productions. The series follows football players Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota as they navigate the ups and downs of the NFL season.

Quarterback featured behind-the-scenes of the biggest moments of the 2022-2023 season, as Mahomes set an NFL record for total offense on his way to winning the league and Super Bowl MVP awards; Cousins engineered the greatest comeback in NFL history and led the Minnesota Vikings to an NFC North Division title; and Mariota took over as the starting quarterback with the Atlanta Falcons.

Omaha Productions is behind shows like Peyton’s Places and Eli’s Places for ESPN+. SpringHill Company has produced films like Space Jam: A New Legacy, Student Athlete and Hustle for Netflix.
