Katie Holmes must be exhausted. She, like many other famous people, seems to have been tasked with undertaking a never-ending walk around Manhattan. This is an observation informed by hundreds of paparazzi photos, which document the actor in near-constant transit. It’s pure speculation, but the same painstaking endeavor once caused Emily Ratajowski’s loafers to melt into the pavement.
There could be an ulterior motive behind all this, though. Dressed in merchandise from Taylor Swift’s tour, Holmes might have been trying to surreptitiously “bump into” the musician, who has spent the past fortnight moving between Via Carota and Zero Bond with Greta Gerwig and Zöe Kravitz and Sophie Turner and Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid and Laura Dern on her arm. That Katie Holmes is a card-carrying Swiftie is not actually all that surprising. The actor introduced Swift at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball in 2017, and she might also have contributed to the 2.3 magnitude “seismic event” registered at Swift’s Seattle concert during her ongoing Eras Tour. But here’s the thing: If Holmes really wants to summon a Swiftian endorsement, she might need to start wearing friendship bracelets too.
