Here’s When You Can Expect Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 to Release

Originally released in 2020 to mixed reviews, Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a major overhaul on September 21, 2023, with Update 2.0. The major patch promises to overhaul substantial features such as perks and skills and AI and vehicle combat while also bringing fresh content such as side quests, weapons, and a new district.

According to Cyberpunk 2077’s Senior Community Manager, Amelia “Lilayah,” Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 will come out “close to the end” of CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 REDStreams broadcast on September 21. The stream starts at 4 PM CEST (7 AM PT / 10 AM ET).

In reply to a fan on Twitter asking what time the patch will be released, Lilayah replied, “We’re aiming to release the update close to the end of the stream.”

Previous REDStreams broadcasts have lasted anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours in length, so based on that, we expect Update 2.0 to drop around 5 PM CEST / 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. Note that this isn’t concrete, it all depends on how long the stream lasts.

Before this, CD Projekt RED hadn’t been too clear on exactly when Update 2.0 would be dropping, leaving it up to fans to guess. A popular theory was that it would be released at the same time as the Phantom Liberty DLC, which is set for 4 PM PT on PC on September 25 and 12 AM PT on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on September 26.
