Disney+ is getting fans ready for the premiere of the upcoming original series Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Although the series doesn’t debut until December, the streamer released yet another teaser on Tuesday — this time unveiling a bit more about the journey that Percy (Walker Scobell) and his crew will be embarking on to recover the Master Bolt after its been stolen.

But first, Percy will have to realize his power as a Half Blood and learn more about his past to understand why he’s the only person for the job.

As fans gear up for the adaptation — which comes about a decade after the first two novels in Rick Riordan’s series were adapted into films — the author has been vocal about his involvement with the Disney+ series from day one.
“I feel comfortable telling fans of the books who have been waiting — in some cases, decades — for this kind of faithful adaptation, that this is the one you’ve been waiting for. We are involved and I think you’re gonna love it,” he told EW in a recent interview.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god, Zeus, accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.
The series stars Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood and features notable guest stars Lin-Manuel Miranda, Megan Mullally, Toby Stephens, Virginia Kull, Jason Mantzoukas, Jay Duplass, Glynn Turman, the late Lance Reddick, Adam Copeland, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Olivea Morton, Suzanne Cryer, Timm Sharp and Timothy Omundson.
Riordan worked closely with the creative team and showrunners Jon Steinberg and Dan Shotz on the a series, which, per Disney+, stays true to his vision for popular literary characters. The first two episodes are written by Riordan and Steinberg and directed by James Bobin. Steinberg and Shotz serve as executive producers alongside Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, The Gotham Group’s Jeremy Bell and D.J. Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Monica Owusu-Breen, Anders Engström and Jet Wilkinson.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians premieres with two episodes on December 20 on Disney+, followed by new episodes weekly.
