Taylor Swift’s film will be released in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour film has caused several Hollywood projects like The Exorcist: Believer and Meg Ryan’s What Happens Later to reschedule their release dates in order to avoid a clash with the singer’s concert movie.

After winning hearts with her amazing song renditions, Taylor Swift is now gearing up to take the theatres by storm. On August 31, the American singer-songwriter dropped an announcement on Instagram sharing that her successful The Eras Tour concert will be released on the big screens on October 13. The news has taken Swifties (Taylor Swift’s fans) into an unbridled excitement for sure. But a shadow of uncertainty seems to have loomed over certain film production companies. They are scrambling to find suitable release dates for some Hollywood films so that they do not lock horns with Taylor Swift’s much-anticipated concert movie.

Multiple movies were forced to reshuffle their release date to avoid competing with Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour concert film. On September 1, Jason Blum, the CEO of Blumhouse Productions revealed that the upcoming The Exorcist: Believer — a sequel to the cult classic horror franchise The Exorcist will be premiering on the silver screens on October 6 instead of its initial release date which is October 13. Drawing a reference to one of Taylor Swift’s famous songs, Jason Blum dropped a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) which read, “Look what you made me do. The Exorcist: Believer moves to 10/6/23. Taylor Wins.”

Taylor Swift also seems to have overpowered actress Meg Ryan who was supposed to make a comeback with her upcoming romantic comedy What Happens Later. In an X post on September 1, the film’s production team — Bleecker Street Films announced that the Meg Ryan-starrer is now slated to hit the theaters on November 3 and not on October 13. “So we’ll take our time. Are you ready for it? Meg Ryan ends her 14-year rom-com hiatus and the Megaissance begins with What Happens Later, now happening later. Coming only to theaters November 3,” read the announcement.

Another Hollywood project that has been indirectly impacted because of Taylor Swift’s concert film is WWE superstar John Cena’s action comedy — Freelance. To avoid clashing with The Exorcist: Believer which in turn reshuffled its release date due to The Eras Tour Concert film, the John Cena-starrer will now premiere on the big screens on October 27, instead of October 6.

The Eras Tour film will mark its theatrical release in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The film is touted to revolve around recorded footage of Taylor Swift’s first three shows that she performed at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
