Harley Quinn Season 4 Trailer Teases New Crazy Adventures

The romance between Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy is more alive than ever in a new trailer for the highly anticipated fourth installment of Max’s hit original animated series starring Kaley Cuoco as the famous DC Comics anti-heroine.

As Lady Gaga is getting ready to debut as the popular sidekick to Joaquin Phoenix’s Clown Prince of Crime fo Gotham in Joker, and Margot Robbie takes a potentially permanent break from the character, Cuoco continues her wild adventures in the adult series that became one of the greatest animated hits in the DC universe in recent years.

After celebrating Valentine’s Day with a special episode, the series returns on July 27 with new challenges for Harley and Ivy, as the new trailer anticipates:

Harley Quinn also stars Lake Bell as Poison Ivy, Alan Tudyk as Joker, Ron Funches as King Shark, Tony Hale as Doctor Psycho, and Jason Alexander as Sy Borgman. They’re joined by Diedrich Bader as Bruce Wayne,, James Adomian as Bane, Krizia Bajos as Bethany, Tisha Campbell as Amanda Waller, Briana Cuoco as Barbara Gordon, Andy Daly as Harvey Dent, Rachel Dratch as Nora Fries, Larissa Gallagher as Prawn, Sean Giambrone as Joshua Cobblepot, Harvey Guillén as Dick Grayson, and many others.

The third season of the series ended with Harley deciding that she no longer wanted to be a villain, so she joined the Batfamily in order to change the course of her life and contribute something to Gotham. Meanwhile, Ivy will take the lead within the Legion of Doom team of villains, which may bring trouble for the couple.

Why Should the Harley Quinn Animated Series Continue Despite the Changes on the New DCU?

DC Studios

In recent years, Harley Quinn has become one of the most popular characters in the DC world, largely thanks to the performance of Margot Robbie, who managed to stand out in both 2016’s Suicide Squad and 2021’s The Suicide Squad, even when both films have received strong criticism from part of the fandom.

However, the arrival of James Gunn and Peter Safran at DC Studios as the main managers of all the stories that will be told in movies, television and even in video games, have cast doubt on Robbie’s return. Although Gunn expressed his desire to work with the actress again, no project involving the character has been announced at this time.

But Harley Quinn can be maintained, like The Batman, Joker or Superman & Lois as a project within the Elseworlds label, stories that have no relation to the official canon. Recently, another adult series based on DC characters premiered, My Adventures with Superman, and it has proven to be very successful as well. These different versions of the characters serve to give the franchise a necessary freshness, and seek more specific audiences without sacrificing the most mainstream projects.

Additionally, a Robbie-inspired Harley will also arrive soon in animated format in Suicide Squad Isekai, a new anime-style adult series that will also stay outside the universe that Gunn and Safran are building, and even outside any of the already existing ones.
