As the Marvel Cinematic Universe has continued to expand, it has frequently reached into the “Games of Thrones” cast to find new actors.
Now, Emilia Clarke is the latest Game of Thrones star to make her way into Marvel’s ever-broadening world.

In Marvel’s newest series, “Secret Invasion”, Clarke plays G’oaj, the daughter of the Skrull Talos, who holds a grudge against Nick Fury. The actress walked the red carpet at the show’s premiere on Tuesday, and was impressed by the whole event.
“It’s crazy. It’s big. I mean, it’s huge. This is huge. This, for a TV show, this is ridiculous,” Clarke said of the premiere, and the fan reaction for it. “I’m here for it! I’m definitely here for it.”

Portraying A Skrull
For those not caught up on Marvel lore, Skrulls are alien shapeshifters, meaning that when Clarke was not in her “human form” she had to wear a ton of prosthetic makeup.
According to the actress, it was hard work being an alien.

“”It’s a lot,” Clarke said of the makeup and costuming she had to wear in her Skrull form. “I get a little claustrophobic.”
“I have to take my contact lens out and put those [colored lenses] in and then you can’t hear anything because it’s all over here,” she said, pointing to her ears. “And then you kind of can’t breathe. Yeah.”

“It’s intense, it’s really intense, so I prefer human makeup because, for this show, there wasn’t a lot of it.”
Following Other “Game of Thrones” Alum
While on the red carpet for the show’s premiere, Clarke, who famously starred as Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s fantasy drama, was asked if she realized how many “Game of Thrones” actors had made the jump to the MCU. In addition to Clarke, that list includes Natalie Dormer, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Richard Madden, Richard E. Grant, and Hannah John-Kamen among others.
“Oh my God. I did not know that,” Clark shared. “That seems like a lot! That’s a lot of people.”

Secret Invasion will premiere on June 21, exclusively on Disney+
