Nick Jonas, 30, set the record straight about singing duets on sexy songs with his older brothers Joe, 33, and Kevin, 35—it’s not happening.
The purity rings that once defined them as teens are long gone, and the boys are all grown up now, which means their music isn’t PG-13 anymore. Their 2013 split allowed them to explore previously off-limits topics, like sex—as if Disney would ever greenlight Nick’s “Jealous” or DNCE’s “Cake by the Ocean.” When the brothers came back together in 2019, they were’»t kids anymore.
Though their music isn’t exclusively explicit, there are a few racy lines sprinkled in the mix. The brothers have worked out a system for performing sensual songs, so you won’t hear Joe and Nick singing a duet on any suggestive lyrics. In an interview with Bustle, the Jonas Brothers shared their approach: “We’re always conscious that we’re three brothers singing on stage together, so when we sing about sex specifically, it’s gotta be kind of a nuanced thing, otherwise it can be a little strange.”

A single from their sixth studio album, The Album, features a particular string of saucy lyrics. “Summer in the Hamptons” cuts straight to the point before the chorus—“Warm waterfalls stay falling on me. / Your body takes me to some kind of place. / Sex like summer in the Hamptons.” Believe it or not, that’s milder than what comes next: “I’m deep inside your sand, / A different kind of warmness.” Okay, boys! “Obviously we’re not duetting those songs,” Joe clarified. “Very individual singing in that.”
