Zack Snyder’s ‘Full Circle’ Announcement Teases More in Store for DCU Supervillain Darkseid

Filmmaker extraordinaire Zack Snyder has puzzled social media users with a short teaser clip related to the DCU supervillain, Darkseid. The 13-second clip captioned “#fullcircle” was posted early Wednesday morning and left Snyder supporters in a frenzy as they race to connect the dots ahead of the official announcement slated for April.

The “incoming transmission from Lord Darkseid” begins with an indistinguishable radio broadcast that seems to be establishing a clear frequency. Amid the cacophony, a glowing, blue orb is the center focus of the clip, which seems to operate as a power source of the displayed technological system. Once the dissonant frequency clears, the booming voice of the infamous demiurge pervades the transmission, stating, “April 28th, 29th, and 30th…save the date.”

The Darkseid April announcement comes weeks after James Gunn and Peter Safran unveiled the Gods and Monsters Chapter One plan for the DC Universe. The new, “game-changing” DCU vision notably left off any mention of a Darkseid film, so it’s hard to speculate what’s to come from Snyder’s reveal next month. If Snyder’s announcement is alluding to an upcoming project, it would be a touching way to close his chapter in the DC Universe.

The DC Universe movie franchise can feel almost impossible to follow at times, leaving many fans questioning what exactly went wrong when adapting the popular comics. Since the franchise’s inception 10 years ago, the cinematic renditions have been plagued by inconsistencies, cancelations, broken promises, and the death of the fan-backed Snyderverse. It’s a blow that devout Snyder followers have yet to recover from, which is why Wednesday’s announcement has caused such a stir on social media. The impending Darkseid announcement has revitalized fans’ hopes of seeing the completion of his universe, despite the recent overhaul, with many users taking to Twitter to decipher what the obscure message means.

One user proposed that the Darkseid project could find a home on the Warner Bros Discovery-acquired streamer, HBO Max.

Some users speculated that the upcoming dates would be attached to Snyder Con, a charity event the filmmaker has held in the past where he displayed director cuts of his projects.
