Selena Gomez’s Comment on a TikTok About Her Relationship With Justin Bieber Sparks Fan Debate

Selena Gomez fans are not sure how to take the actor’s latest TikTok comment.

ICYMI: Gomez dated Justin Bieber and on and off for nearly a decade before a brief Jelena renaissance from 2017-2018. Bieber went on to marry Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin), while Gomez recorded “Lose You to Love Me” and called their breakup “the best thing that ever happened to me” in her recent documentary, My Mind and Me

Now, Gomez is commenting on Jelena once again. In a recent TikTok video by a Selena Gomez fan account, user @donttellmymomma.fr posted a series of photos of Gomez from her time with Bieber, including an old comment Gomez reportedly made after one of their past breakups. “[He’d] rather models,” she supposedly replied to a fan. “I’m too normal.” The user titled the post, “The reason Selena is always skinny when she dates Justin,” and captioned the vid, “He rather models…my poor baby.”

While most celebs ignore videos like this, Gomez surprised her fans by commenting on the user’s feed with a sad face emoji. “Help no way she commented,” one of many fans replied.

Though fans swarmed the comments with support, many debated whether her sad face was a confirmation of the video’s message or a show of disapproval. Some fans even suggested that @donttellmymomma.fr delete her comment so their fave doesn’t get hate and unsolicited comments about her body. Of course, the entire video is an unsolicited commentary on her body…

While Gomez previously stated that she doesn’t use the internet and doesn’t know her own Instagram password, she recently sparked controversy by commenting on a TikTok video of her rumored rift with friend and kidney donor, Francia Raisa. “I haven’t been on the internet in four and a half years,” she said in April. “It has changed my life completely.”
