Fire of Love is a nature documentary with a romantic core. The film follows married volcanologists Katia and Maurice Krafft, who fell in love partly because of their shared fascination with science. Fire of Love uses archival footage to show the French couple’s travels across the world studying various volcanoes, and getting as close as they possibly can — even if it kills them. The movie manages to strike a balance by combining stunning shots of nature with sweet, everyday moments from Katia and Maurice’s relationship, blending their personal and professional lives to create an unforgettable portrait.
