While the majority of the royal family are understandably iffy about being portrayed on Netflix’s, let’s say, historical-ish semi-fiction series The Crown, Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles has demonstrated a few times that she seems to like—or at least, not mind—seeing herself and her loved ones on the screen.
Dominic West, the English actor who will play Prince-now-King Charles III in the fifth and sixth (and final) seasons of the series, recently revealed that when he talked to Parker Bowles last (at a party in 2021), she called him “Your Majesty,” a subdued wink-and-a-nod typical of Brits. Speaking to the Radio Times, West also recounted that he offered to resign his post as ambassador for The Prince’s Trust, one of Charles’ charities, in case the role was seen as a conflict of interest.

“You do what you like, you’re an actor. It’s nothing to do with us,” West said, summarizing a letter from the King’s personal secretary. “I think that’s probably how [Charles] regards it. I’ve been in a line to shake his hand a few times and it’s fascinating. It’s very useful to meet the character you’re playing, obviously.”
This isn’t the first time Camilla Parker Bowles has joked about the series. In March, she attended an event with Emerald Fennell, who played her in previous seasons. Addressing the other guests at the event, Parker Bowles quipped, “It is reassuring to know that, if I should fall off my perch at any moment, my fictional alter ego is here to take over.”
