Key quote: “I started writing it because I didn’t know what else to do after my dad died.” Caleb Hearon said. “I was surprised at how affected I was because me and my dad joked about him dying a lot. We had this weird relationship where we weren’t close for a lot of my life, and then we got closer. And I always thought to myself, if my mom died that would be the end of my world and when dad died it would like [milder] like, ‘Oh ok. Dad, died.’ And then he passed and it destroyed me, it was so difficult. So, I didn’t know what to do except write.” Hearon continued: “And then somehow, some way [Kris and Zooey] thought it was story worth telling and I’m really grateful to show it to a bunch of people.”
