New Episodes Of Prime Video’s Hit Batman Series Debut To Stellar Audience RT Score

DC and Prime Video have landed a big win in 2026 for one of the most iconic superheroes of all time.

The Dark Knight continues to have his mythology retold through the big and small screens, both in animation and live-action. The summer season is nearing its end, but the iconic DC hero has made his way back in what is currently one of the most well-received versions of the character.

Batman: Caped Crusader season 2 landed on Prime Video on Friday, July 31, and it has given the Prime Video series a massive win. As of writing, the animated superhero project has landed an 82% rating for its audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Not only is it a solid number for the second season, but a signficant improvement in response from the viewers.

For Batman: Caped Crusader season 1, the comic book noir entry is currently at 55% on its audience score. However, based on the season 2 episodes, there has been a big shift, as the show’s return has landed a stronger reception with audience members.

The latest season is also off to a great start among critics, as its Rotten Tomatoes score is at 90%. In ScreenRant’s Batman: Caped Crusader season 2 review, Felipe Rangel highlighted how the new episodes tackle the latest version of the Joker, who is voiced by Matthew Needham.

Per Rangel, this “is not your usual Joker. Much like how season 1 did away with the vibrant and energetic persona often attributed to Harley Quinn for that character’s debut in the show, season 2 brings to life a much more chilling Joker, one who is not about creating mayhem for madness’ sake, but is calm and calculated.” He also credits Needham as a wonderful casting addition in the role, saying “Needham makes the Joker smart, ruthless, and someone who nobody will want to cross.”

For the time being, Batman: Caped Crusader season 3 has not been officially announced by Prime Video and DC. However, given that the sophomore season has only been streaming for less than a week on the popular platform, it’s still too early to tell if the series will be back for another season or not, as it will all depend on how it performs analytically.

Hopefully, if the viewership is there, the positive reception will perhaps lead Prime Video to renew the series for another season. As Batman TV shows and movies continue to perform well in Hollywood, the Hamish Linklater-starring comic book project will ideally be back for more episodes.

Batman: Caped Crusader season 2 is now streaming on Prime Video along with season 1.
