LEGO has done it again. And by “it,” I mean released a banger holiday set in the form of a pumpkin lantern. While most may not think that spooky season is upon us in mid-July, retailers are, as always, way ahead of you. From Home Depot’s new 12-foot Skelly drop to a very early announcement of the Star Trek comic’s Halloween edition, the Halloween-obsessed minority is loud, and we’re ready for autumn to come.
LEGO, likewise, has begun revealing its 2026 Halloween collection. The Halloween Pumpkin Lantern set is adorable and is a nice small set, with only 323 pieces. One of those pieces is a battery-powered light brick to illuminate the pumpkin from the inside. Other than the pumpkin itself, the set includes a “floating,” glow-in-the-dark ghost and a spider.
Personally, even before I feel the first chill of fall, I’m fantasizing about hauling out my favorite decor. While I typically don’t encourage “running to buy” any type of seasonal decor you won’t use for a while, I am a sucker for LEGO. An activity and a decoration? Yes please.
Each year, over 1 billion pumpkins end up in the landfill. There are plenty of ways to reduce this waste, from eating the pumpkins to composting them. Or, if you want another alternative, you can always to buy something that you are able to reuse each year, like a Halloween Pumpkin Lantern LEGO set.
This is just one of LEGO’s Halloween collection is continuously expanding, this year adding the light-up pumpkin, a brand new X-Files set, and an E.T. statuette. Other great-looking sets include “Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship” (a.k.a. the Black Pearl) and, for a smaller set at 177 pieces and $15, the Jack-O-Lantern Pickup Truck.
This new set officially goes on sale for $29.99 on August 1. This should give you plenty of time to build before you set it out as a decoration for spooky season.
